In regards to computingWhat is the difference between phishing and farming?
FARMING
[Link] Farming as stated from (link 1)
is the process of exchanging links with other web sites in order to increase search engine results leading to yours. The idea behind link farming is to increase the number of sites that link to yours because search engines such as Google rank sites according to, among other things, the quality and quantity of sites that link to yours.
PHISHING
On the other hand, phishing as stated from (link 2)
is the act of sending an e-mail to a user falsely claiming to be an established legitimate enterprise in an attempt to scam the user into surrendering private information that will be used for identity theft. The e-mail directs the user to visit a Web site where they are asked to update personal information, such as passwords and credit card, social security, and bank account numbers, that the legitimate organization already has. This information is then used to steal the user's personal belongings such as money or info.
