I received an e-mail from "Yahoo! Award %26lt;yaward15@ymail.com%26gt;" with subject "Congratulations!" that said "Please view the attached file" and had an attachment "PIN.doc (88KB)".
Is this legit? Should I open the attachment? Is Yahoo giving awared (and using a ymail account, not a Yahoo.com account to do it)? If not, what is it? Phishing scam? Virus?Is "Yahoo Award" e-mail legitimate, a phishing scam, or a virus?
Phishing, definitely. Possibly virus as well. Yahoo, Microsoft, etc. do NOT have any type of awards, contests, lotteries, etc.Is "Yahoo Award" e-mail legitimate, a phishing scam, or a virus?
