phishing websites "phish" your password meaning it steals your password and hacks into your myspace, email or any other site you might use on your computer.

Uhm well a phishing website is a fake website people make that trick you into thinking it is a site you normally go to. For example, myspace: a phishing website for myspace would look like myspace, but it wouldn't actually be part of myspace. the point of these sites is to trick you into revealing your username and password, which is sent to a database where hackers use them to log in as you and oh say.. spam other people.
uh, yeah. unless of course you like having your information stolen. Phishing is basically, a person of ill repute, puts up a phony page that looks like the real thing, and waits for some unsuspecting person to type in thier password or other personal information. "Fishing for information"

they can use this information to steal your identity (It took me two years to recover from it when they "caught " me so...

you can also help others by reporting phishing sites. type Phishing into your browser and educate yourself so you can spot them.
phisihing is when a fake website acts like a real website like a banking website and asks for your personal information like credit card numbers, bank account passwords, and other information you wouldn't tell anyone. so just let the computer check it to be sure.
