I've been studying over the Y!A guidelines, rules and regulations as to avoid getting anymore VN's. Can someone please tell me what PHISHING is?Can anyone tell me what PHISHING means?
And now for a definition in plain ENGLISH:



Its when you make a fake website, that looks exactly like the real website, to trick people into entering their important information, passwords, credit card numbers. Its actually pretty easy. All you need is the source code of the website you want to make a fake of, a hosting website, and some knowledge about html.
Phishing:



The act of sending an e-mail to a user falsely claiming to be an established legitimate



enterprise in an attempt to scam the user into surrendering private information that will be used for



identity theft. The e-mail directs the user to visit a Web site where they are asked to update



personal information, such as passwords and credit card, social security, and bank account



numbers, that the legitimate organization already has. The Web site, however, is bogus and set up



only to steal the user’s information.
