What鈥檚 the deal with this phishing expedition?

I only recently opened an account with Bank of America, and ever since I鈥檝e been getting a phishing letter once every couple of days. It actually started happening right after I cashed a bit of money and that surprised me a little, I even thought for a few minutes that it was a real thing.

Obviously it is your regular freshwater phishing, but hey why doesn鈥檛 gmail send it straight into spam? And how come did it start so soon after I got an account from the bank? Is it just a coincidence that they try to steal my Bank of America info?What鈥檚 the deal with this phishing expedition?
Believe it or not it may be an employee of the bank, what better way to know who their new customers are. Or it could be that they're selling your information to a third party.What鈥檚 the deal with this phishing expedition?
Bank Of Ameria is a respectable bank I assume?

If so than i would put this down to coincidence.

Surely major banks aren't selling out thier own customers???

Have you recieved other phishing emails for ebay, other banks etc? Maybe it used your email address elsewhere and it has been picked up by the phishers.
